Minister says Russia to develop 5G in both announced bands
VLADIVOSTOK, Sep 5 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Digital Development Ministry will develop high-speed connection on the 5G technology in both announced bands and it has a preliminary agreement on its launch in local zones with the military, Minister Konstantin Noskov said on Thursday on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.
“We’ll develop in all ranges…It will be local separate zones, and we’ve preliminarily agreed on the matter with the military,” Noskov said.
Most of global vendors target the 3.4–3.8 GHz band, but it is mainly kept by the military in Russia. Deputy Digital Development Minister Oleg Ivanov said earlier that massive focus would be made on the 4.4–4.99 GHz band.
